Turnaround Consulting Fees
To help the turnaround consulting profession and its clients, we have put together this short web page to explain fees in the industry. Among turnaround consulting professionals, fees are always a hot topic of discussion. Also, prospects for turnaround consulting often wonder if they are getting a good price.
Since this is our first web page undertaking, we decided to give some turnaround consulting information that is not available anywhere else. Possibly, if the interest is strong enough, we will expand our site to include other information that would be of interest about the turnaround consulting profession.
Turnaround Consulting Fees
Partner/ Manager/ Certified Turnaround Consulting Practitioner $125 to $500 an hour. Typical is $250 an hour.
Controller/Specialist/Associate Turnaround Consulting Practitioner $80 to $200 an hour. Typical is $125 an hour.
(Be careful of general business consultants claiming to be a member of a turnaround consulting firms. Many of these do not have any restructuring and distressed business experience. You can normally tell a general business consultant because they will charge you much less than the going rate.)
Most turnaround consulting firms also want a success bonus as part of their engagement contract. Typically, the success bonuses vary from 100% of fees to a third of the client’s equity. Some firms will work on contingency basis, but you should expect to pay premium such as 50% of equity.
